We’re not saying Ball is the better player. Simmons is a more impressive natural athlete: he’s bigger, stronger, and faster. On the other hand, he’s a complete non-shooter, while Ball has developed into one of the best in the NBA. That’s the beauty in Ball’s game: he’s a playmaker in transition, and a 3-and-D in half-court sets.
Speaking of 3-and-Ds, Alex Caruso has become one of the league’s best. Ultimately, this deal has the Nets landing two quality role players who will support Durant and Irving.
