The basketball world, including players in the NBA, was locked in on Monday night for the 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament matchup between LSU and Iowa. It was a star-studded affair and a rematch from last year’s National Championship Game, which LSU won.

Motivated by that defeat, Caitlin Clark and Iowa were not to be denied this time around. They exacted some revenge on their rivals, defeating Angel Reese and LSU 94-87 behind another monster performance from Clark.

She scored a game-high 41 points, adding 12 assists and seven rebounds in a dominant performance. Her entire skill set was on display as he was finding her teammates for easy buckets and showcasing her range.

On the season, Clark’s 3-point makes have averaged a distance of 26’1”, which is multiple feet behind even the NBA line. Pretty much once Clark got over the midcourt line, she was in range to launch a 3-point attempt.

NBA NEWS & SCORES: Luka Doncic, Caitlin Clark, Dallas Mavericks Updates

Does that remind you of anyone in the NBA? In the opinion of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, it certainly looked reminiscent of Golden State Warriors star point guard, Stephen Curry.

Doncic was asked if he saw any of his own game in what Clark was doing against LSU. He said that she resembled Curry more than himself, as she is already a better shooter than he is from long range.

That is a shooting matchup we could actually see next year. After the success of Curry facing off against WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu in a shooting contest during NBA All-Star Weekend this year, the event is expected to expand in 2025.

There are reports that Curry and Ionescu will be back, but it will be a 2-on-2 competition. Curry will be joined by his Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, while Clark will be teaming up with Ionescu, as the two will be facing off in the WNBA this upcoming season. Clark has declared for the draft and is expected to go first overall to the Indiana Fever.
