Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal
Building a team around Simmons may be complicated, but at the same time, the Bulls may be tailor-made to do so.
That starts with Nikola Vucevic. Simply put, he’s the stretch big the Nets need, and don’t have. With him spacing the floor out to the perimeter, the Bulls would have the space Simmons needs to operate.
Moreover, Zach LaVine is the perfect co-star for Simmons too. That’s partly because he’s a sniper from distance, but it’s also due to his athleticism. If you love basketball, it’s impossible not to get excited thinking about Simmons-to-LaVine lobs. The two would make a devastating pair in transition.
If there’s a hiccup here, it pertains to Simmons and DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan is also a ball-handler with a weak shot. On the other hand – at least he’s willing to shoot. With Vucevic in the middle, the Bulls would retain adequate spacing, with a very dynamic core of playmakers to boot.

Finally, the Bulls need to do something. As constructed, they’re highly unlikely to make a deep playoff run in 2022-23. If they don’t make changes, they could be headed for a tumultuous summer of their own.
