We’re far from the first people to link Collins Sexton and the Dallas Mavericks. In fact, rumors suggest that Dallas been poking their nose around exploring sign-and-trade options.

Dallas’ interest makes sense. Whether the Cavaliers will play ball is a different story. The same rumors indicate that the Cavaliers are “not attracted” to what Dallas has to offer.

Meanwhile, the Mavs don’t have the cap space to sign Sexton outright. It may be that they’re not offering enough. Alternatively, the two sides could look for a third party to facilitate a deal.

Whatever is holding Sexton-to-Dallas up needs to be taken care of. Sexton’s alpha scoring mentality makes way too much sense alongside Doncic’s prodigious playmaking.
