A week ago, the New York Knicks might have ranked higher on this list. That was before they signed Jalen Brunson.
If the Knicks believed they needed an injection of talent in their backcourt, New York got it. Brunson figures to be a heavily featured part of their offense in 2022-23. With that said, could they still use Sexton?
The fit between the two could be interesting. On the surface, neither profiles as a natural playmaker. Brunson’s 4.8 assists per game in 2021-22 were solid, but they weren’t a spectacular mark.
Having said that, Brunson’s usage rate was compromised by sharing the floor with Luka Doncic. The Slovenian sensation is one of the highest usage players in the NBA. We’ll see what his numbers look like with more domain over this New York Knicks offense.
