Golden State Warriors Receive: C Myles Turner, G Buddy Hield
Indiana Pacers Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, No. 28 Overall Pick In 2022 NBA Draft
This trade scenario is made with the Golden State Warriors’ potential defections in mind. They have seven players entering free agency, including five that have been part of the NBA Finals rotation thus far.
Retaining all of them is likely an unrealistic goal, as players such as Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II have earned themselves raises the Warriors may not be able to afford. With that in mind, the Warriors add two rotation pieces in this deal.
Trading Andrew Wiggins hurts, but this deal is made with an eye toward the future as well. Wiggins is set to be a free agent in 2023 and Golden State may not have the means to retain him.
As a result, they use him as part of the trade package to get Buddy Hield in addition to Myles Turner. If the Warriors would prefer, Malcolm Brogdon can be swapped out in place of Hield and the numbers would still work.

Indiana fills their wing spot with Wiggins, who is still young enough to be part of the long-term plan should they choose to re-sign him. Wiseman gives them a building block in the middle and the Pacers get another bite at the apple with the 28th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
