Golden State Warriors Receive: F T.J. Warren (Sign-and-Trade), 2023 First Round Pick (via CLE)
Indiana Pacers Receive: C James Wiseman
While the Indiana Pacers are in a rebuild, sometimes, a player comes available that is worth paying a little extra for. In this scenario, they decide that James Wiseman is worth targeting even if it means parting ways with one of their future draft picks.
They still have their own first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but they are unlikely to get a player as good as Wiseman with the Cavaliers’ pick. They should have no issues securing more future picks to replace that one with the veterans that they can still make available for trade.
This is a scenario in which the Golden State Warriors are hoping to hit another home run with an oft-injured forward. It worked out this season with Otto Porter Jr. and they are hoping to replicate that success with T.J. Warren, who is acquired via sign-and-trade.
Warren has missed all but four games in the last two seasons because of a foot injury. But, when he was last healthy during the Orlando Bubble in 2020, he was turning some heads with his performance.

Given how competitive the market is going to be for someone like Warren, the Warriors find a creative way to get him a little extra money, while coming away with a potentially great future asset to swing more trades in the future as well.
