3. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have to decide which direction they want to take the roster in this offseason. They attempted to speed up their timeline with free-agent signings during the 2021 offseason, but those moves didn’t pan out.

Some believe the Knicks should clear out their veterans this offseason and fully turn things over to their youngsters. If that is the case, New York could get aggressive and look to move up the draft board.

A team like the Sacramento Kings could be who the Knicks call. Moving up to the No. 4 pick would give them their choice of point guard options. On the off chance that one of Smith, Banchero, and Holmgren isn’t selected, the Knicks would then be in a position to stop their skid.

Julius Randle could be enough to help the Knicks move into the top half of this year’s draft class. They also have an extra first-round pick in 2023 courtesy of the Dallas Mavericks that they would use to further bolster a trade package as well.
