2. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets made some strides during the 2021-22 season. They improved their win total by 10 games over the previous season, but that was not enough to help James Borrego keep his job as head coach.

Borrego was fired after the Hornets were blown out in the NBA Play-In Tournament first round, again. After getting blown out by the Indiana Pacers in 2021, the Atlanta Hawks bested them this year.

This is a Hornets team that could use some more veterans to help get them over the hump. They have a face of the franchise point guard in LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges showed great improvement as well.

They do not need two more young players that will not receive playing time, as 2021 first-rounders James Bouknight and Kai Jones barely got on the court.

With two first-round picks, No. 13 and 15 overall, the Hornets should explore the possibility of moving up and adding an impact prospect. This could be one way to move up in the draft and move on from a veteran such as Gordon Hayward. P.J. Washington is another player that could be involved to improve the package.

On the cusp of being playoff contenders, the Hornets would be smart to try and consolidate their picks for a higher-ranked prospect that can help them win games immediately.
