Getting ready for the start of the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks have a chance to win their first playoff series since 2011 when they went on to win their one and only NBA championship.

Dallas has quickly become one of the best defensive teams in the league, however, their offense could be what ultimately holds them back in the first-round yet again.

Luka Doncic is one of the best overall talents in the NBA, but with Tim Hardaway Jr. out indefinitely due to a foot injury suffered in January, the rest of the Mavericks roster is a big question mark.

The Mavericks’ bench ranks 24th in the league in scoring and while Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie have stepped up in recent weeks, Luka Doncic is still their only consistent scoring threat.

Regardless of what happens in the playoffs, adding more talent in the offseason is a must for the Dallas Mavericks, which is why they could be very active on the trade market.

Entering the offseason projected to be well over the tax line for the 2022-23 season, the Mavericks will not only have to deal with Jalen Brunson being a free agent, but possibly moving some contracts around on the trade market to bring in another impactful talent.

Given that they are a defensive-minded team with a need for a new center, Myles Turner could quickly become their No. 1 offseason target.

Turner has long been rumored to be on the trade market in Indiana and if he had not gotten injured ahead of this year’s trade deadline, many around the league believe that he would have been on the move.

Bringing in another big contract would be tough to do, but the Mavericks do have some avenues to getting a deal done for Myles Turner in the offseason.
