Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?
Going out and upgrading the talent in their frontcourt is a must for the Mavericks this upcoming offseason, especially given that Kristaps Porzingis is no longer around.
While there are certainly questions surrounding Myles Turner’s durability and productivity on the offensive-end of the floor, he is a much better offensive talent than that of Dwight Powell and would make one of the better defensive teams in the league arguably the best defensive team in the league due to his shot-blocking nature.
Myles Turner has led the league in blocked shots two of the last three seasons and in Dallas, he could immediately become a double-double-like threat next to Luka Doncic.
It is not hard to believe that he would become the Mavericks’ second key scoring weapon next to Luka Doncic and with them being a very guard-heavy team with the likes of Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie, the opportunities in pick-and-roll situations would be endless for Turner.
