While he is 33-years-old now and on the back-half of his career, Thaddeus Young can still contribute meaningful minutes to virtually any team in this league, specifically those vying for a playoff spot this season.
After missing the postseason last year and bringing in Rick Carlisle to be their head coach in the offseason, the Indiana Pacers dropped their opening night game on Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets after leading by 21 points in the second-half.
All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis was fantastic in this game, scoring 33 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, but this team’s lack of frontcourt help looks like it could be a season-long problem. Myles Turner did his thing at the center spot, grabbing rebounds and blocking shots, but no other big man played in this game for the Pacers.
This is just the first game of the season and guys like Goga Bitadze and Oshea Brissett could get mixed into the rotation at some point, but Sabonis cannot be playing 40-plus minutes per game this season or he will ultimately get worn down.

Having another reliable power-forward to turn to could and give Sabonis some rest could wind up being essential for this Indiana Pacers team and there is no better option to bring in other than Thaddeus Young, who spent three seasons in Indiana just a few years back.
Bringing in Young could be easy for the Pacers to do, especially if they are willing to part ways with veteran Jeremy Lamb, who seems like a player they will be looking to move at some point this season. Dallas is another team who could be looking to make some moves this season and they threw Trey Burke on the trade block a few weeks ago.
Based on both team finances and player fit, there is definitely a trade that can be had between these three teams, but does this three-team trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, and Dallas Mavericks?
