The one prospect who is going to garner the most attention during the 2024 NBA pre-draft process is Bronny James. He declared for the draft, while maintaining his college eligibility and entering the transfer portal, as he will be moving on from USC one way or another.
Evaluators are split on whether or not Bronny will actually remain in the 2024 NBA Draft. His freshman season at USC wasn’t great, as the cardiac arrest he went through led to a less-than-ideal start to his collegiate career.
Once he was on the court, the impact Bronny made was minimal. While he is highly regarded for his defensive prowess, his offensive game has a long way to go. He averaged only 4.8 points per game while shooting 36.6 percent from the field overall, 26.7 percent from 3-point range and 67.6 percent from the foul line.

Some scouts believe there are three rounds worth of players that are better than Bronny in this draft, but he does have something going for him that no one else has. He is the son of NBA legend and Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James.
That carries a lot of weight. Especially because LeBron has stated previously that one of the final goals he has as an NBA player is to suit up with his son. Should a team select Bronny, their odds of landing LeBron go up.
Who could be the team that looks to bring Bronny in? NBA analyst Chris Broussard revealed that he has a good idea of where Bronny could land. In his opinion, it will be the Lakers who use a selection on him in the 2024 NBA Draft.
“The Lakers clearly want to keep LeBron. I think they’ll draft Bronny,” Broussard said on a segment of First Things First on FS1.

Broussard claims that a plan is in place for Bronny that will get him into an NBA program to help him develop. There is a belief among LeBron’s camp, including Rich Paul, that the best way for Bronny to develop into an NBA player is to be surrounded by and work out with NBA talent.
With LeBron potentially set to hit free agency this summer, it would make sense for the Lakers to use a selection on Bronny. It would help them increase their odds of retaining him in free agency, which they need to do to remain contenders in the Western Conference.
