Jared Butler
The Los Angeles Lakers have the No. 22 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. They can go in several different directions with this selection, as the roster could use an infusion of youth pretty much everywhere. But, they could also trade the selection to land an established veteran.
If they hold onto the selection, they are in a prime spot to land a point guard. One point guard they could have their eyes on is Jared Butler out of Baylor.
Butler was recently cleared by the Fitness-To-Play panel and can pursue his dream of playing in the NBA.
The Louisiana native was a key cog in the Bears’ NCAA Title victory this year. While not an elite playmaker, Butler makes up for it with his scoring ability. He is a three-level scorer, which would certainly help the Lakers. His 41.6 3-point percentage is something that would certainly play right from the start at the next level.

Defensively, Butler can also get the job done. He is big enough to defend either backcourt spot, just as he did at Baylor alongside Davion Mitchell. He averaged 2.0 steals per game and would make an impact on that end of the court, even as a rookie.
