Chicago Bulls Urged To Pursue Bronny James In 2024 NBA Draft

Bronny James, Bulls, NBA Draft

The focus for the Chicago Bulls right now is their matchup against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Play-In Tournament. They cannot move up or down in the Eastern Conference standings, as their game hosting the Hawks is about the only thing currently set in stone.

While the Bulls will have something to play for in the coming days, there are people in the organization who have turned their attention to the offseason. This could be a busy one for the Bulls, who have some decisions to make with their roster.

DeMar DeRozan is set to hit free agency, so the team has to figure out if they want to pony up what it will cost to keep him long-term. Coby White and Patrick Williams are also set to hit restricted free agency after not signing deals ahead of the rookie scale extension deadline before the season.

But, the first order of business for the Bulls this offseason will be the NBA Draft. Their inclusion in the Play-In Tournament likely knocks them out of contention for a top pick as they will more than likely be picking around the 12th pick.

NBA NEWS & SCORES: Bronny James, 2024 NBA Draft, LeBron James, Chicago Bulls Updates

With that pick, Scotty White of Clutch Sports believes Chicago should seriously consider selecting Bronny James. Bronny, the son of LeBron James, recently declared for the 2024 NBA Draft but retained the flexibility to return to college should he choose to. However, he won’t be returning to USC, as he also entered the transfer portal.

“LeBron James wants to play in the NBA with Bronny James, and because of that, some teams might be thinking about drafting him. If he had no relation to LeBron, it’s unlikely that he would get much attention in this year’s NBA Draft. However, if it means that LeBron follows him, teams might be thinking about it. The Bulls have already had one of the two members of the GOAT debate on their team, and they would likely welcome the other,” wrote White.

The chance of having LeBron join your team if you select his son is what will entice a lot of franchises this offseason. He has made it clear that he wants to play with Bronny before he retires from the NBA and this could be his best chance to do so.

LeBron has a player option that he is likely to decline. That means he will be a free agent, free to choose whichever team he wants to join next. If the Bulls use a draft pick on Bronny, they could jump to the top of his free agent wish list this offseason.
