Golden State Warriors

The No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is one that has been used in plenty of mock trades during the offseason. The Golden State Warriors have that selection courtesy of the Minnesota Timberwolves. If they hold onto it, Keon Johnson would love to land there.

The two biggest weaknesses in Keon Johnson’s game right now are his ball-handling and shooting. Who better to learn those things from than the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

His strengths right now, his athleticism and defense, would play well in Golden State as well. Rarely do teams this high have the talent base that the Warriors have, so they would be able to afford him the chance to round out his game over time, but hone in on his strengths and play to those early in his career.

Having Draymond Green would give Johnson another great tutor, as battling against him will only improve his game.

Being inserted right away into a winning culture with players that can teach him how to play the game would be ideal for a prospect as raw as Johnson.
