Decline Goran Dragic’s Team Option
Similar to Andre Iguodala, Goran Dragic has a team option that has a deadline of August 1st. That gives Miami less than a month to decide whether or not to bring back the veteran point guard.
Dragic has been used as a starter and as a sixth-man of sorts since being traded to the Miami Heat back in the 2014-15 season. While Dragic is a key contributor when he’s on the floor, injuries have become a concern in recent years.
Goran Dragic, who turned 35 years old in May, would cost $18 million if Miami were to pick up his team option for next season.
In all likeliness, $18 million is more than the Heat are willing to shell out for Dragic for another season. Miami is also a team that is expected to be aggressive in adding a point guard this offseason, which could push Dragic out the door.

Declining the team options of Iguodala and Dragic would create a lot more wiggle room for the Heat to work with.
