Decline Andre Iguodala’s Team Option
Getting more star power is going to be a main focus for the Miami Heat this offseason. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are remarkable building blocks for Miami, but they need more to compete with the top-tier teams in the league.
For the Heat to have a chance to bring in another star or two, they’ll need to create some cap space in a variety of ways. The first way they could free up some money is by declining Andre Iguodala’s team option.
Iguodala has been a solid veteran for the Heat over the past two seasons, but his production doesn’t warrant his current contract.
The veteran forward has registered only 4.5 points per game in the last two years and he’s owed $15 million if Miami picks up his team option.

By choosing not to pick up his option, the Heat can create some cap space and inch them closer to being able to make much-needed roster moves this offseason.
