Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

The Indiana Pacers need to have a plan if they want to bring in Ben Simmons. They will have to know how to use him in a way that will bring him the most success. If that is at point guard, they can send Malcolm Brogdon away.

Domantas Sabonis is an All-Star caliber big that has improved each year and that is something Simmons is used to playing alongside with Joel Embiid. If Sabonis is the focus of the Pacers’ roster construction going forward, a wing like Simmons to hold down the four spot would be essential.

Simmons knows how to play with an impact big man down low. Indiana could be looking for more star power forward in the lineup and Simmons could bring that. His contract is large but if they send away Brogdon, this opens up some room.

Also, Indiana needs to find a way to balance the lineup on both ends. Simmons is an elite defender on the perimeter and brings great versatility. This is a move in hopes of getting back to the top of the conference.
