The Sacramento Kings made some noise late to sneak into the NBA Play-In Tournament but ultimately fell short. They finished the season 31-41 for the second consecutive season, and while Luke Walton will be back as head coach, some changes have to be made this offseason.
The Kings have not made the playoffs since 2006, making it 15 consecutive years without a playoff appearance. Sacramento has some nice pieces to build around, such as De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton, but this team needs to overhaul its defense.

Sacramento had the worst defense in the history of the NBA this season with a defensive rating of 117.2. The Kings couldn’t stop a cold this season and need to address that side of the basketball this offseason.
Sacramento will have some money to spend, so they can upgrade the roster. They have a few free agents they may want to splurge on, such as Richaun Holmes, but can spend elsewhere.
