Bam Adebayo
The Miami Heat already know that Bam Adebayo is their franchise center, but his performance so far in 2021 is proving they made a great investment. Adebayo was projected to be a breakout star across the league this season after Miami lost a lot of weapons following their NBA Finals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, and he has stepped up and became a leader on the team.
The Miami offense and defense both run through Adebayo, and it shows when he’s on the floor. The 2020 all star made a name for himself last season as one of the NBA’s top centers and he’s backing that up yet again in 2021. Adebayo rang in the new year by leading Miami in points and recording a double double against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Adebayo could certainly repeat his NBA All-Star season if his stellar play continues. So far this season, Adebayo is averaging 19 points per game, 8 rebounds per game, 4.4 assists per game, and a stellar 63.2 field goal percentage through the team’s first five games.
The Heat doesn’t have a lot of star power anymore and Adebayo will be carrying the majority of the workload throughout the entire season. If he keeps this up, there will be no debate who the top center in the NBA is.
