When the New Orleans Pelicans dealt Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers last season, I don’t think they expected how good of a player they would wind up with in Brandon Ingram. Ingram, 23, is already proving himself to be one of the best small forwards in the Western Conference and his current role on the team is proving just that.

“My philosophy was to give the the ball to the best player we have on the court right now. That’s pretty good offense, he made me look good” Pelicans head coach Stan Van Gundy had to say about Brandon Ingram following a Pelicans victory.

That quote proves to be very accurate as well, as no other player in New Orleans seems to carry the same level of swagger that Ingram does day in and day out. “I know it’s early” Ingram’s teammate Eric Bledsoe, “but all I can say is MVP” when asked about how well Ingram has played in a clutch role for the team.

Ingram is without a doubt the go to guy in the Big Easy and the 2020 NBA All Star is certainly living up to his five year, 158.2 million dollar contract he signed prior to this season’s tip off. Ingram has certainly gotten off to a hot start and the Pelicans have a forward tandem to be reckoned with for years to come.
