Robert Williams
The Boston Celtics may have finally found their answer at the Center position following the sudden emergence of Robert Williams. Williams, 23, missed a large portion of the 2019-2020 season with an injury but started to play well towards the end of the campaign.
Williams hasn’t gotten a ton of minutes quite yet to start the 2021 season, but with the way he’s playing the Celtics may have their hands forced in the matter. So far through five games, Williams has averaged six points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 0.6 assists per game, 1.7 steals per game, and 3.1 blocks per game.
The most impressive stat of them all may just be his field goal percentage. So far Williams has been the most efficient scorer of the Celtics’ roster with a field goal percentage of 78.9 percent to start the year. That’s a staggering number for any player in the NBA, let alone a big man.
Williams’ biggest area of improvement was his passing game, but he’s vastly improved in that area and claims that it’s “something he loves to do.” Williams has proven to be a starting caliber big man for Boston who shows flashes of greatness in his defensive play and flashy passes.
