4 bold predictions for Cleveland Cavaliers entering the 2020-21 NBA season

LeBron James rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of the 2014-15 season and not only took them to four straight NBA Finals before departing Cleveland again for the Los Angeles Lakers, but he delivered on his promise to bring a championship to the city of Cleveland, beating the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals.

Since James has left the Cavaliers organization for a second-time in his career, the Cavs have had back-to-back seasons with 19-wins and a total combined record of 38-109 over the last two years. Now, after firing head coach John Beilein after 54 games, the Cavaliers will have their 5th head coach since 2015 in J.B. Bickerstaff. He coached the Cavs final 11 games last season, finishing 5-6 in those games.

Two of the bright spots for the Cavaliers’ organization though are Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, who are two promising young players that will shape the Cavaliers backcourt for years to come. They also drafted forward Isaac Okoro in this past year’s draft and with these three players, the Cavaliers will look to solidify a core of the future.

The Cavaliers also have Kevin Love and Andre Drummond, two veteran players who can still play at a high-level. With rumors circulating about both players this offseason, the Cavaliers may look to leverage their former All-Star veterans in efforts to acquire draft picks to continue building a young core of the future.

Whatever the Cleveland Cavaliers decide to do roster wise this season, it ultimately will not make a difference for this season. Their fate for the 2020-21 NBA season is already sealed and with that being said, let’s take a look at 4 bold predictions for the Cavs entering the 2020-21 NBA season.
