Drummond has never taken a literal three in an NBA game. He’s made his fair share of full-court heaves, but lining up for a three has never happened in his career.
However, towards the end of last year, Drummond had started taking a few mid-range jumpers off the pick-and-roll and was hitting them.
Like mentioned above, Drummond has been putting quite a lot of work this off-season to extend his range to beyond the three point line. With Griffin alongside him and potentially Stanley Johnson starting at the three, the Pistons will need as much improved long range shooting as possible.
Drummond took an unexpected leap facilitating the offense quite well, and the vastly improved free throw shooting should be encouraging for this development.
Casey is backing up his big man, so Drummond will get the chance to shoot above 34 percent from deep.
