Why The Minnesota Timberwolves Do The Deal
The balance between offense and defense is just one balance that NBA teams need to strike. Roster balance is key as well.
The Timberwolves do not currently have it. This team starts two big men in Towns and Rudy Gobert. It’s not working. Towns is having an awful time trying to guard the perimeter.
Anunoby won’t. In fact, a frontcourt of Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, and Anunoby could be the best defensive frontcourt in the NBA. The fit here is much better for Minnesota.
On the other hand, they could suffer simply from losing one of their two best players. That’s why they’re also receiving three first-round picks here.
