Sure. It’s not really a big deal for the Rockets to absorb Morris Sr. 

Yes, Gordon has a team option for next season, while Morris has guaranteed money. That’s fine. The Rockets aren’t likely to be major players in free agency, and if they are, they’ll still have plenty of cap space after making this trade. 

They’ll also have Brandon Boston Jr. He hasn’t done much as a member of the Clippers, but he’s definitely got potential.

Boston Jr. has the type of shot-creation abilities that a young team like the Rockets ought to covet.

Finally, they get a second-round pick for their troubles too. Perhaps this isn’t the return that the Rockets front office wanted. It’s probably as good as they’re going to do in any event.
