Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal

Some Hornets fans may feel they’re being sold short here. We disagree.

Look beyond Hayward’s name value. Yes, he remains a useful player. He’s also aging out of his prime and extremely injury prone. It’s entirely possible that he won’t net a first-round pick on his own.

With that in mind, this is a solid return for the Hornets. Simms may be the star here. The Hornets are still searching for an answer at the 5, and he’s got an interesting skillset as a floor-spacing big.

Yet. Reddish is the mystery box. His NBA career has been a disappointment, but he’s still got upside.
