God bless the youth. At some point, we’ve all wished we were younger – no matter old we actually are. Veteran NBA players perhaps feel this way at times.
Partly, that’s because the youth get different treatment. They deserve it, too. Everyone should be entitled to their youth. After all, it’s not going to last.
The same principles apply to younger NBA players. We’re more willing to overlook their flaws because we see their potential to grow out of them. At the same time, eventually, we have to concede that a player is who they are.
Cam Reddish may be reaching that point. At 23, he still has room to improve, but that room is shrinking on an annual basis.
