On the subject of young players – this deal involves an awful lot of them.
Realistically, there’s a lot of untapped potential in this deal. It involves two lottery picks who, thus far, haven’t lived up to their draft status.
At the same time, at this point, it’s fair to question whether they ever will.
Ironically, Kendrick Nunn, the adult in this room, has probably had the most productive NBA career to date – and he wasn’t a lottery pick. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t drafted at all.

All of which points to the harsh reality of young players – we don’t know what they’ll become. All we can hope to do is make projections, and see if they live up to them.
For example, Reddish was supposed to be a 3-and-D wing with secondary shot-creating abilities. Should the Lakers really gamble on him developing into one in 2022-23?
