Chicago Bulls Receive: G/F Will Barton, F Deni Avdija
Washington Wizards Receive: G Lonzo Ball
Having said all of that, the Wizards aren’t the only team searching for a perfect pairing. Moreover, that perfect match doesn’t have to be in a team’s backcourt either.
The Chicago Bulls have got a pretty good pair in DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine. DeRozan is a devastating on-ball creator, whereas LaVine can function both with and without the rock. They’re both naturally gifted enough scorers that opposing defenses will often have to send double teams their way.
With that said, they obviously weren’t a perfect enough pair for the Bulls in 2021-22. The team had a mediocre season, finishing with 46 wins and getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
On the other hand, perhaps that’s unfair. It may have been the supporting cast around LaVine and DeRozan that held them back last season.

In any event, if the Bulls want to improve in 2022-23, they may need to make some changes. Does this deal do enough for them?
