4. LiAngelo Ball

We have seen for years teams take care of their star players in different ways. Not only are they compensated well, but sometimes, they have favors done for them when it comes to the roster. That is likely what is going on with the Charlotte Hornets, who will have LiAngelo Ball, the older brother of superstar point guard LaMelo Ball, on their summer league roster.

Their father, LaVar Ball, spoke highly of his sons and said that all three of them would be playing in the NBA together. So far he is two-thirds of the way there as LaMelo and Lonzo are both secure on the rosters of the Hornets and Chicago Bulls.

LiAngelo is still hoping to realize that dream of being on an NBA roster and this will be another chance for him to achieve that goal. He played for the Hornets’ Summer League team last year, averaging 9.6 points per game but making only 37.5 percent of his shots overalls and 34.5 percent of his 3-point attempts.

He played 28 games for their G League affiliate as well, struggling with efficiency but making only 39.5 percent of his shots overall and 35.7 percent of his 3-point attempts.

While they can be doing this as a favor to LaMelo, LiAngelo will eventually have to show something more than he is that he should continue getting chances.
