The 2022 NBA offseason is marching right along with the moratorium for free agency being lifted on Wednesday afternoon. The next stop for the league is the Las Vegas for Summer League where all 30 teams will be taking part again.
Summer League has become a fun event for basketball junkies. It has expanded to a huge event as the league heads to Las Vegas for two weeks. This will be the first chance fans will get to see a lot of young guys in action.
All of the top picks will be there playing, providing fans with some great matchups. There are always standouts during these games and this year will be no different. Right now, the Brooklyn Nets are the odds-on favorites to take home the Summer League crown at +700 with the Oklahoma City Thunder right behind them at +750.
We already got a sneak peek of what is coming from the Thunder as they took part in the Salt Lake City Summer League where Chet Holmgren, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, had a monster performance in the finale. Josh Giddey, the No. 6 overall pick from the 2021 NBA Draft, is also taking part.

Another team to keep an eye on is the Detroit Pistons, who are sending what was a large portion of their rotation last season to Summer League. It is anyone’s guess how much players such as Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart will play, but they are on the roster along with Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, the team’s first-round picks this year.
While a lot of focus will be on the youngsters and they make up a large majority of the rosters, there are some older players on rosters that are looking to make a good impression to receive a chance during the 2022-23 season.
