Notes on Other NBA Trade Rumors
Outside of the big four rumors that we have discussed so far, there are plenty of other tidbits to take note of moving forward around the NBA. Here are just a few things to watch:
- Carmelo Anthony is set to hit free agency this offseason. While the Lakers would still like to re-sign him, they are not going to be able to do so without a fight. The Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics have all been talked about as possible destinations for the veteran forward.
- Following the Rockets’ move to trade Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks, they are still looking to deal veteran guard Eric Gordon. At this point in time, they are searching for a first-round pick in return. It seems very likely that Gordon will find a new home before the end of the offseason.
- Rumors have been flying out of Toronto that the Raptors could end up trading young wing OG Anunoby. While those rumors have been persistent, it is still unlikely that a trade will occur. Toronto would need to get a major haul in return to move off of Anunoby.
- Outside of the Kings’ trade talks involving the No. 4 overall pick, they are also discussing trade scenarios with teams regarding center Richaun Holmes.
- The 76ers have been relatively quiet in NBA rumors thus far, but they have been shopping Danny Green and the No. 23 overall pick in a trade package. Moving off of Green’s contract is a major priority for Philadelphia this offseason.
- Just like the 76ers, the Bulls are offering a trade package to teams involving Coby White and the No. 18 overall pick. They are simply looking to add more talent to their roster to win now. Zach LaVine appears more and more likely to re-sign, so the Bulls will be looking to add a player that fits better alongside their “Big 3” than White did last season.
