Kyrie Irving

Perhaps the biggest rumors to have come out so far this offseason have been the new report of Kyrie Irving’s potential departure from the Brooklyn Nets. Should he end up being moved this offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Clippers are the three teams being mentioned as potential landing spots. Other teams could still get in the mix, but this is something to keep a very close eye on.

There is also the chance that the Nets and Irving could iron out their issues. Brooklyn would love to keep Irving and if they are unable to do so, that could force Kevin Durant to make a decision about his future in town as well.

Outside of the three teams listed above, there are a couple of other options. The Heat, Mavericks, and Pelicans could be teams to watch in trade talks as well. Irving’s market would be a hot one.

Irving is coming off of a drama-filled season with the Nets due to the COVID-19 vaccine situation. He refused to get the vaccine, which caused him to miss some time. At the end of the year, Irving ended up playing in 29 games and averaging 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.
