Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers made a huge mistake when they elected to trade for Russell Westbrook instead of Buddy Hield.
The Lakers stripped all of their depth, most of their tradeable assets, and ended up with an ill-fitting, past-his-prime, and ball-dominant third option for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Instead, the Lakers could bring one of the best off-ball snipers in the entire league to Los Angeles, who doesn’t need the rock in his hands to contribute and can impact the offense with just his movement and gravity.
Luckily, they’ll have the chance to rectify that blunder this offseason with Hield’s new team, the Indiana Pacers. Waiting until this summer will open an additional first-round pick for the Lakers to use in trades, but it shouldn’t take more than one to get this deal done.

Sending a package of Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, salary filler, and a future first-round pick should be enough to get Hield to Hollywood. Even if the Los Angeles Lakers can’t find a way to offload Westbrook, bringing in Hield’s shooting should make life easier for every single player on the roster.
