Best Landing Spot: LA Clippers

The most success that Kyrie Irving has found in his NBA career came when he was second fiddle to LeBron James. With the LA Clippers, he would be able to fall into a similar role with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George already in place.

Adding Irving to that mix would improve their already strong championship chances. The Clippers have the infrastructure in place that should be able to overcome the quirkiness and unpredictability that comes with having Irving on your roster.

This is a strong roster, one that Irving’s presence would enhance. The Clippers need some help at the point guard spot and there won’t be anyone better than Irving available if he opts out of his deal. There are enough versatile defenders to help overcome his lapses on that side of the court as well.

While teams do have to worry about handing Irving a long-term contract, the Clippers have deep pockets. If anyone can afford to sign him and let him take his sabbaticals from time to time, it is a team with an owner committed to winning such as Steve Ballmer and willing to pay for it. Having two All-Stars in the fold already would also help.
