Making the Case: Miami Heat
The Miami Heat took care of business in the first round of the postseason as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They could very well do the same against the Philadelphia 76ers and have a strong outlook considering they began the series with a 2-0 lead.
Butler and Adebayo provide the star power but the Heat have seen Herro step up, along with others like PJ Tucker and Victor Oladipo. Miami has the perfect balance of experience and star power across the board. This is only going to improve once Lowry returns to the floor.
Next season, the Heat could look even better if Pat Riley remains aggressive in the offseason. This is something we have seen for years now and it might not change since the Heat are in their win-now window. Jerami Grant is an intriguing option to be the next addition to create balance on both ends.
Grant is one of the best 3-and-D players in the NBA. He did not do much winning in Detroit, but this move might have been a good one for his career. Grant showed that he can be the No. 1 option offensively and doing so created more value around his name heading into the final year of his deal.

Defensively, Grant knows how to use his length to guard all five positions, too. For a team like the Miami Heat that prides itself on versatility, he’d fit right in.
