Donovan Mitchell
They say you should put your best foot forward. Trading for Donovan Mitchell would be the best plan the Chicago Bulls could make if Zach LaVine decided to pack his bags.
There’s widespread anticipation that he’ll be available. His Jazz seem to have hit their ceiling. He doesn’t appear to like Rudy Gobert. It’s also rumored that he’d prefer to play in a larger market. Chicago certainly qualifies.
The Bulls could have the pieces to get it done, too. They may have to part with promising young forward Patrick Williams. That will sting. He’s got the potential to be an All-World 3-and-D.
Still, acquiring Mitchell would be worth it. The opportunity to pivot directly from one superstar to an (extremely similar) another one would be too great to pass up. Plus, Williams was unavailable for most of 2021-22. The Bulls wouldn’t know what they were missing.

The same certainly couldn’t be said for LaVine, but acquiring Donovan Mitchell could ease any longing the Bulls felt.
