Buddy Hield
Buddy Hield is not nearly the offensive initiator that LaVine is. In fact, he’s not even as strong as Oladipo in that area. Hield is a complementary player. He could be the type that keeps these Chicago Bulls competitive.
After all, he’s one of the most reliable floor-spacers in the NBA. His 39.8% career three-point percentage tells you all you need to know: you can count on this guy to knock down triples.
If Oladipo as a LaVine replacement puts a heavier burden on DeRozan, Hield does the same, only in a different way. He won’t be as capable of easing the veteran’s ball-handling load, but he’ll do a better job of maximizing DeRozan’s ball-handling as a floor-spacer and passing target.
That might be more valuable to these Bulls. After all, they’ve got Lonzo Ball to assist with ball-handling duties. Having Hield space the floor for those two may give the Bulls a stronger attack than adding a tertiary creator like Oladipo.
