Doc Rivers
Talk about a coach who knows how to handle a difficult group. Kevin garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen – it does not get harder than that.
Even in Philadelphia, Doc Rivers had to handle the drama with Ben Simmons and is currently coaching Joel Embiid and James Harden. The Sixers are title contenders in the Eastern Conference, and anything short of a Conference Finals appearance would be disappointing. This is when Daryl Morey could step in and make a coaching change.
It is never good when rumors are beginning to circulate before the postseason. Philadelphia might be looking to bring in a head coach that is better suited for Harden, so he sticks around. This is also a red flag when players get too involved, but that is just how today’s NBA is.
Rivers has proven time and time again that he can successfully lead a team with star power. Despite winning a title in Boston, there are some ill feelings about Rivers’ postseason performance, given his time with the Los Angeles Clippers.

If Rivers was out in Philly, he could make the switch across the country to a team with another big three. Now, he could take a chance with the other LA team and would go into another situation that needs to be ironed out.
Rivers knows Los Angeles well, has experience with stars, and has an established reputation. He seems to check all the boxes for a head coach that would fit with this Lakers team.
