One point guard experiment did not work so why not go after another one? Damian Lillard may or may not be a trade piece for the Portland Trail Blazers moving forward. If he is, the Los Angeles Lakers could decide to go for it all for the second consecutive NBA offseason.

Lillard missed significant time this season which caused the Blazers to fall to the bottom of the standings. The team also sent CJ McCollum to New Orleans, splitting up the longtime duo in the backcourt.

Lillard has not publicly requested a trade yet, but it is still possible once the postseason is complete — a postseason that the Lakers are not competing in.

The Westbrook experiment did not work. Los Angeles brought the star point guard to town, hoping to build a big three alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Westbrook was inconsistent, while both James and Davis missed some time with injuries. This led to the Lakers missing out on the postseason, completing one of the most disappointing seasons in NBA history.

Frank Vogel is out as head coach of the Lakers, but that might not be the only big move team makes. They have been linked to Lillard since trade rumors began, and it could happen in a blockbuster trade such as this.
