Adding to Milwaukee’s challenges, Khris Middleton briefly exited Game 2 with a foot injury. Although he returned to finish the game, his performance was evidently hampered by discomfort. Bucks coach Doc Rivers expressed his concerns about the situation. “It’s another holding-our-breath situation,” Rivers said regarding Middleton’s condition. He also provided an update on Giannis, noting, “He did a lot of floor stuff today, probably the most I’ve seen. Nothing live, but he was shooting and moving around. He’s getting close, but whether that means a day or four, I’m not sure.”
This season has been plagued by injuries for Milwaukee’s core trio, which includes Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and newly added Damian Lillard. In fact, all three stars have only appeared together in three of the last 35 games. Lillard, however, has been a consistent force, exploding for 35 points in the first half of Game 1 and adding 34 points in Game 2’s loss.
