The Milwaukee Bucks grapple with significant injury concerns as their NBA playoff series against the Indiana Pacers intensifies. Already without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is nursing a calf strain, the Bucks managed a narrow victory in Game 1.

However, Pascal Siakam’s standout performance in Game 2 helped the Pacers even the series, shifting the momentum as the teams prepare for Game 3 in Indianapolis.

Adding to Milwaukee’s challenges, Khris Middleton briefly exited Game 2 with a foot injury. Although he returned to finish the game, his performance was evidently hampered by discomfort. The Bucks have since listed Middleton as questionable, casting further doubt on his availability for the upcoming game.

Bucks coach Doc Rivers expressed his concerns about the situation. “It’s another holding-our-breath situation,” Rivers said regarding Middleton’s condition. He also provided an update on Giannis, noting, “He did a lot of floor stuff today, probably the most I’ve seen. Nothing live, but he was shooting and moving around. He’s getting close, but whether that means a day or four, I’m not sure.”

This season has been plagued by injuries for Milwaukee’s core trio, which includes Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and newly added Damian Lillard. In fact, all three stars have only appeared together in three of the last 35 games. Lillard, however, has been a consistent force, exploding for 35 points in the first half of Game 1 and adding 34 points in Game 2’s loss.

As the series progresses, the Bucks are confronted with the reality of potentially facing the Pacers without two of their key players. Despite losing home-court advantage, Milwaukee is determined to shift the series back in their favor by securing a win in Indianapolis.

The pressure is mounting on Lillard to lead the team, especially if Giannis and Middleton are limited or unable to play. Known for his ability to dissect defenses, Lillard’s performance in Game 3 will be crucial as the Bucks navigate through their playoff journey amid these challenging circumstances.
