David Fizdale

David Fizdale is known as a coach who gets along well with the players. His ultimate claim to fame was during his time with the big three of the Miami Heat. Fizdale got glaring recommendations from James and Dwyane Wade for a head coaching position.

Once it happened, it did not work out.

Fizdale spent time with the Memphis Grizzlies before taking the head coaching position with the New York Knicks. During his time as a head coach, Fizdale posted a 71-134 record. Because he was on a bigger stage in New York, his failures were on display, but he could still land as an assistant.

It does not seem like a coincidence that Fizdale landed as the top assistant under Vogel. James has a past with his coach and will likely have a say on who is hired or promoted. In this case, Fizdale is already in the building, and it would not take much to move him up a spot.
