Ja Morant
If a partnership with Doncic would be based on synergy, teaming up with Morant would be a case of doubling down. We have a funny feeling it would work out either way.
The combined attacking power of these two dynamic guards would simply overwhelm opponents. They’d come to dominate the league’s highlight reels on a nightly basis. They’d probably win a lot of games, too.
After all, the Grizzlies did that without LaVine this season. They were one of the league’s most pleasant surprises, winning 56 games to clinch the second seed in the loaded Western Conference. Imagine what they could do with LaVine?
Much of their success was predicated on surrounding Morant with depth. The Grizzlies are stacked with two-way wings and quality bigs, but they lack a second star. Jaren Jackson Jr. is a standout player, but he may not be a true second option on a championship team. LaVine, on the other hand, would be overqualified for the position.

The Grizzlies are ahead of schedule in their rebuild. They may not deem it an appropriate time to invest heavily in a win-now move. If they do, pairing Morant with Zach LaVine in the backcourt makes for a very exciting possibility.
