Can “Big 3” Rekindle Old Magic
The Golden State Warriors had a stretch in which they made the NBA Finals for five consecutive seasons, winning three of them. The last time was in 2019 when they lost to the Toronto Raptors.
That was the last time that the Warriors made the postseason, as they had a two-year hiatus as they reloaded. This postseason will also essentially be the first time that their Big 3 has been on the court together since those NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green played only 11 minutes together this season. The instant that Thompson returned after more than two years, Green went out with a back injury that sidelined him for two months. Green came back and in that game, Curry suffered a sprained foot.
Those three have spent years playing together, but there could be some rust needing to be knocked off. Will they find the same recipe for success this postseason as they did in years past?
