When Will Luka Doncic Return To The Court?

The Dallas Mavericks looked like one a dark horse team to win the championship heading into the postseason. However, those chances were quickly derailed in the second half of their season finale.

Superstar point guard Luka Doncic strained his calf, putting a damper on the positive momentum the team had heading into the playoffs. While the injury isn’t considered serious, he is unlikely to suit up in Game 1 of their series against the Utah Jazz.

Doncic will be considered day-to-day and will be something to keep an eye on. The Mavericks were not a great team without Doncic this season, as they went 8-9 without their All-Star. They will need other players to step up in his absence, but who will it be?

Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson are the logical choices, as they will handle a bulk of the ball-handling duties. Jason Kidd will have to find someone that can help replace some of Doncic’s scoring as well.

This is the exact scenario in which the Mavericks hoped Kristaps Porzingis would help them, but he didn’t pan out and is now in Washington. It will take a total team effort to replace Doncic as long as he is sidelined.
