Philadelphia 76ers
Trading for James Harden was a huge move for the Philadelphia 76ers to make and now just 1.5 games out of first-place in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers have a chance to make a run to the NBA Finals.
Regardless of how the postseason goes for the Philadelphia 76ers, GM Elton Brand and team president Daryl Morey will enter the offseason with high aspirations to continue adding talent to their championship-level roster.
James Harden, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey represent the new “Big 3” in Philadelphia, leaving Tobias Harris out in the wing and a major trade candidate for the 76ers in the offseason.
Even with Maxey emerging as the third key talent on this Sixers’ roster, the 76ers will be searching for a way to add a “third star” to their team and they could possibly view John Collins as this other high-level threat they need.

Moving on from Tobias Harris and the $76.9 million he is still owed will be key for the 76ers and they have expressed interest in the Hawks’ forward before.
Ahead of trading Ben Simmons to the Nets for Harden, the Sixers explored trade opportunities with the Hawks, showing a level of interest in pairing John Collins with Joel Embiid in the frontcourt.
This would be a major contract for the 76ers to bring in during the offseason, almost definitely resulting in them paying luxury taxes for the next several years, but the Hawks are going to be looking to make some changes and could be willing to bring in Tobias Harris if John Collins is wanting out.
