#5 Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum – Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics really struggled during the first-half of the 2021-22 NBA season, as they were just 17-19 heading into 2022. However, this was mainly because of their lack of secondary talent around their two All-Stars in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

While Brown was not selected to the All-Star game this season, he has certainly been playing like an All-Star once again and paired with Tatum, the Celtics have been on-fire over the last several weeks.

Since the start of 2022, the Celtics have gone 17-7 and recently put together a nine game win-streak after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 135-87 on Tuesday night. Boston ended up having that streak snapped by the Detroit Pistons on the second night of a back-to-back in a 112-111 loss.

Jayson Tatum is only 23-years-old, but he has established himself as one of the best isolation scoring threats in the entire league, averaging 25.7 points and shooting 43.34 from the floor. While he is only shooting 32.9% from three-point range this season, Tatum is averaging the 8th most three-point attempts per game in the league and ranks 16th in made threes per game.

LATEST NBA NEWS: Can Harden, Embiid Duo Lead Sixers To The NBA Finals?

Boston is undefeated in the month of February so far and their All-Star duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are to thank for that.

Defensively, those around the Celtics’ All-Stars have stepped up, but Brown and Tatum are two of the better two-way wings in the entire league.

Not to mention, they have carried the Celtics’ offense all season long, as they are averaging a combined 49.4 points per game on the season and 44.2 points per game since the start of February.

LATEST NBA NEWS: Can Harden, Embiid Duo Lead Sixers To The NBA Finals?

The only reason Boston sits 4.5 games back of first-place in the Eastern Conference is because of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Without either of these two, the Celtics would be a fringe playoff team and with them both being young talents, Boston can build around them for at least the next decade.

Jaylen Brown is one of the best two-way wings in the league and Jayson Tatum has real MVP potential. As they continue to grow in this league and the Celtics continue to add talent around them, it is just a matter of time before Boston is back in the NBA Finals!
