New York Knicks
Finding another key scorer is vital for the Knicks ahead of the NBA trade deadline this season and it appears as they are going to be making everyone available in trade talks. The 24-27 Knicks are outside of the playoff picture right now in the Eastern Conference and are willing to move a handful of their secondary scoring talents to add another star.
Alec Burks and Kemba Walker are two names generating a level of trade interest in New York and Indiana’s Caris LeVert continues to be high on the Knicks’ wish-list ahead of the deadline.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder GM Sam Presti is always looking to add draft picks and the team is once again looking to do so by trading Derrick Favors at the NBA trade deadline. Mike Muscala and Kenrich Williams are also two other trade targets for some teams with trade exceptions given their ability to extend the floor on offense.
Orlando Magic
Terrence Ross has drawn the most trade interest in Orlando this season and Gary Harris is a player that multiple playoff contenders are watching carefully in terms of a potential buyout. Teams across the NBA are also interested to see what the Magic decide to do in their frontcourt once Jonathan Isaac returns from injury. While he is not expected to be traded, Mo Bamba does have some suitors this season that could look to target him in free agency this upcoming offseason.
Philadelphia 76ers
Trade talks surrounding Ben Simmons have died down and the three-time All-Star is expected to remain on the 76ers’ roster heading into the offseason. Bradley Beal continues to be a key trade target for the 76ers, but according to The Athletic, the Sixers are unwilling to include Tyrese Maxey or Matisse Thybulle in trade talks. James Harden, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal remain the three main targets for Philadelphia both now and heading into the offseason.
Phoenix Suns
Adding another shooter could be highly advantageous to the Suns ahead of the NBA trade deadline next week and they have also held conversations about pursuing Trail Blazers’ forward Robert Covington. In the final year of his contract, Covington is the epitome of a “win-now” trade asset and would provide depth both on the wing and in the frontcourt for the Suns, who are looking to win their first title in franchise history.
Portland Trail Blazers
Many league executives believe that interim GM Joe Cronin and the Trail Blazers will be open to being “sellers” at the NBA trade deadline given their 21-30 record to this point in the season. Robert Covington has drawn the most trade interest in recent weeks, as has sharpshooter Ben McLemore.
